You want to use wall sconce lighting to help create an atmosphere but at the same time allow the space to be used properly. You will usually have a combination of all three types of lighting in the dining room. General lighting will light up the room allowing people to move around without knocking over furniture. A ceiling mounted pendant light will illuminate the table.
Tiffany Table Lamps - 18" to 36" in height with a shade size that ranges from 14" to 24". These lamps can take 1 to 3 bulbs with a range from 40 watts to 100 watts. Depending on your lighting needs 60 watt bulbs should work well.
Dimmable pendant lights. Pendant lights are typically confined to dining rooms and living rooms but there is no rule that says they can not be installed in the bedroom. In fact, properly chosen pendant lights are extremely stylish and free up a lot of space on nightstands and the walls which can be decorated with mirrors and works of art. Dimmable lights are a bonus because they negate the need to use additional dimmer illumination. They are also convenient especially if controllable through a remote control.
It does not matter how beautifully you have decorated a bedroom, or how much you have spent on furniture and accessories, not having the correct bedroom lighting fixtures can be a costly oversight and can also be inconvenient. Most children do not like the dark, so incorporating some warm and low level lighting in a childs room is essential, place the lighting on a dimmer and there will be no startling transition from bright to dark. Your child will sleep better and feel more secure. Dimmer switches on bedroom lighting fixtures is always a great idea, you can set the mood for a romantic evening, or adjust the lighting to suit someone who is in bed sick, or for someone who wants to stay in bed to read or study.
