Cool Task Lights, options like hanging lights or other forms of suspended systems, work great over kitchen islands and cabinets for a great system that is not only functional but looks good as well. Show and Glow, an ambient light source is another critical step to getting the best lighting in your kitchen. By layering sources, you get a uniform and consistent light that does not create shadows when you are trying to get kitchen tasks done. A common ambient light source is a fluorescent light. By mixing different types of fluorescent bulbs together in one ballast or area, you can provide a wide spectrum of colors to create a soft natural glow and not an industrial feel to your kitchen.
Dimmable pendant lights. Pendant lights are typically confined to dining rooms and living rooms but there is no rule that says they can not be installed in the bedroom. In fact, properly chosen pendant lights are extremely stylish and free up a lot of space on nightstands and the walls which can be decorated with mirrors and works of art. Dimmable lights are a bonus because they negate the need to use additional dimmer illumination. They are also convenient especially if controllable through a remote control.
