The compact fluorescent lamp (CFL), also known as a compact fluorescent light or energy saving light is the most easily available type of energy efficient bulb for homes, which not only consumes less energy but is economical as well when it comes to purchase by a common man. Many CFLs are designed to replace an incandescent lamp and can fit into most existing fixtures formerly used for incandescent bulbs. Energy-saving light bulbs use up to 80% less energy and have a longer lifetime (8-15 times longer) compared to incandescent light bulbs. Some countries across the world have gone so far as to even remove incandescent lights from their shelves and promote CFLs. Even though there is an argument that CFLs are more costly than incandescent bulbs, the fact that these have a longer life negates any such disadvantage.
Prices Have Plummeted In Recent Years. At the same time, overall costs for the basic components, particularly as it pertains to todays modern "wireless" systems have plummeted drastically. This is so important because a full featured wireless home lighting control system can include and so often does many individual components. Add to that that wireless systems also make it far easier to control lighting costs in the home.
